About the Edmonton Real Estate Valuation Project

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted real estate markets around the world. But, can we measure these impacts here in Alberta? Researchers at the University of Alberta formed a partnership with the Alberta Real Estate Foundation and the Realtors Association of Edmonton to tackle this question.

Following the growing trend of using data-driven approaches to develop market insights, this project’s goal is to use real estate transactions data to obtain valuations of property attributes and examine whether and how the pandemic has changed these market valuations.
